Fishing is their traditional occupation even though the younger generation was given facilities for education, their performance was very poor and there were many dropouts from the school, most of them still continue fishing. Fishing in the lake, small ponds and canals is done mostly using Vatty, hook and lines, which are traditional and need a lot of time and energy to catch fish. Sometimes, they do not get enough fish even to meet their daily expenses and thus, the conditions force them to live in hunger.
